Our Philosophy

Yoga: A Journey Within

At Preksha Yoga Ashram, yoga is more than a physical practice. Rooted in traditional yogic wisdom, our approach brings together asana, pranayama, meditation, philosophy and mindful living to nurture a deeper awareness of body, mind and self.

We welcome people at every stage of their journey: from those taking their first steps into yoga to experienced practitioners looking to deepen their understanding and practice.

Our Vision

We believe that yoga can cultivate greater joy, peace, contentment and balance – not only within ourselves, but in the communities around us.

Om, Sarveshaam Swastir Bhavatu; Sarveshaam Shantir Bhavatu;
Sarveshaam Purnam Bhavatu; Sarveshaam Mangalam Bhavatu.

May all be auspicious. May all attain peace.
May there be fullness and contentment for all. May all be blessed.

A Place to Practice, Rest & Reconnect

Preksha Yoga Ashram draws inspiration from India’s traditional Gurukul system, where learning happens through close guidance, shared experience and a supportive relationship between teacher and student. Our teachers accompany you throughout your stay, creating a simple, nurturing environment with space to learn, grow and be still.

Surrounded by tall banana and coconut trees and lush tropical greenery, the Ashram is immersed in the natural beauty of Mandrem, Goa. Just a 7-minute walk from Mandrem Beach, it offers a peaceful setting where the gentle sound of the sea can often be heard from your room.

The Heart Behind Preksha

Siddhesh (Sid) Naik

As a co-founder, Siddhesh is closely involved in the everyday life of Preksha Yoga Ashram – from caring for the property and nurturing its gardens to ensuring that guests feel welcomed and looked after. His connection with nature and spirit of service are an integral part of what makes Preksha what it is.

For Siddhesh, Preksha is more than a place to practise yoga. It is a space to share, serve and create an environment where each person can find their own moment of peace and connection.
